1. City: We are located in beautiful Spencer, Tennessee (seen in the map below).
2. Physical Address: We are a Cottage Bakery (I bake at home) and we're located on Spencer Mountain off Hwy. 111 Southbound. Currently, I do not have a commercial bakery address.
However, if things go well, I'm considering opening a Bakery/Bistro in Spencer. I want to get to know my neighbors so I can understand how best to serve our community.
3. Pick-ups: Pick-ups are available to local residents only.
4. How do customers receive baked goods? In short, Delivery . . . but this is important to know:
a) We deliver to any address inside the state of Tennessee that mail carriers can reach.
b) Delivery options requirements change depending on the goods purchased. Gonna jump into a little bit of law here, so bear with me. It's important our customers are clear on what I can and cannot provide. I'll make this as painless as possible. lol. The rules are pretty simple.
As a cottage baker, I am permitted to deliver goods within the state of Tennessee. However, there is a difference between the delivery requirements of certain goods. (Yep, I know!). Here's how that plays out:
**All shelf-stable items can be delivered anywhere inside the state.
**However, if that item contains chicken or turkey, I must first freeze that item and deliver it frozen directly to the hands of the customer. I can deliver it myself or pay a driver to deliver it, but it must never leave my hands (or the driver's) before reaching your hands.
**Cottage food law does not allow me to sell warm chicken or poultry meals - that is a commercial license requirement due to food law temperature requirement statutes.
c) So, that's the gist of it. Just know that when you order from our Bistro, I'll prepare your meal and then freeze it - because I am required to by the state of Tennessee - no exceptions.
This requires Bistro items to be hand-delivered to you, which limits the area our Bistro can serve. I'll happily deliver 45 minutes out from Spencer.
I guarantee there is no fresher frozen food available than what you will get with our bakery - nothing is ever prepared in advance. Nothing sits on a shelf waiting for an owner. ;) Everything is made to order after you place your order.
5. Is Scent Garden Bakery licensed? Yes, our bakery is a registered LLC, and we have an EIN. I was not required to obtain those licenses under Tennessee Cottage Bakery laws, but it is important to demonstrate that our Bakery acts in good faith and operates with integrity.
6. Have you completed a food safety training? Yes. In February 2026, I earned 2 certificates. Both are ANSI-accredited food safety and allergen courses.
7. Customer service is King here: You'll see this fact shining through with everything we do. If you have any issues, I am here to resolve them. We will work together for a good outcome. Again, (931) 998-2228. My name is Robyn Elisa, and I am the baker and owner. I'm on your side! :)
